ICF Certification Paths

Credentialing

As a coach, credentialing ensures that you have professional standards to follow, raising the level of skill and service you provide. Your path to becoming certified is going to be as unique as you are and we are here to help you find out what path is best for you.

There are 3 Levels of ICF Certification

ACC (Associate Certified Coach)
PCC (Professional Certified Coach)
MCC (Master Certified Coach)

There are 3 Paths to ICF Certification

Portfolio
ACSTH
ACTP

ACC (Associate Certified Coach)

Portfolio Path application for ACC requires:


• At least 60 hrs coach specific training. (Our ACSTH Foundational Program = 70 hrs)

• 10 hrs Mentoring (See our Mentor Coaching page)

• 100 hrs (75 paid) client coaching experience with at least 8 clients following the start of your coach-specific training. 

• ICF's Performance Evaluation 

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion through ICF

• $$$ Application fee to ICF

• Minimum skill requirements for ACC


(Estimated Timeline for ICF Review: 14 Weeks)

ACSTH Path application for ACC requires:


• At least 60 hrs coach specific training through an ACTP or ACSTH program. (Our ACSTH Foundational Program = 70 hrs. Our ACTP Program = 140 hrs)

• 10 hrs Mentoring (See our Mentor Coaching page)

• 100 hrs (75 paid) client coaching experience with at least 8 clients following the start of your coach-specific training. 

• ICF's Performance Exam

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion through ICF

• $$ Application fee to ICF

• Minimum skill requirements for ACC

ACTP Path application for ACC requires:


• Completion of an entire ACTP program with an exam pass (See our ACTP Program)

• 100 hrs (75 paid) client coaching experience with at least 8 clients following the start of your coach-specific training.

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion though ICF

• $ Application fee to ICF


(Estimated Timeline for ICF Review: 4 Weeks)


Note: With our ACTP path we train and test to at least a PCC level, therefore, once you have passed our exam and have your ACC, but later have enough hours for a PCC, you do not need to take the exam process again to receive your PCC (which you would have to with the other paths.)

PCC (Professional Certified Coach)

Portfolio Path application for PCC requires:


• At least 125 hrs coach specific training. (Go this path if you already have some training hrs but not enough and/or not ACTP or ACSTH. Our ACSTH Foundational Program or Weekend Training Modules will provide further hours.)

• 10 hrs Mentoring (See our Mentor Coaching page)

• 500 hours (450 paid) of coaching experience with at least 25 clients following the start of their coach-specific training. 

• ICF's Performance Evaluation

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion though ICF

• $$$ Application fee to ICF

• Minimum skill requirements for PCC

ACSTH Path application for PCC requires:


• At least 125 hrs coach specific training through an ACTP or ACSTH program. (Our ACTP Program Program = 140 hrs. Our ACSTH Foundational Program = 70 hrs. )

• 10 hrs Mentoring (See our Mentor Coaching page)

• 500 hours (450 paid) of coaching experience with at least 25 clients following the start of your coach-specific training. 

• ICF's Performance Evaluation

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion through ICF

• $$ Application fee to ICF

• Minimum skill requirements for PCC

ACTP Path application for PCC requires:


• Completion of an entire ACTP Program with an exam pass. (See our ACTP Program.)

• 500 hours (450 paid) of coaching experience with at least 25 clients following the start of their coach-specific training. 

• Coach Knowledge Assessment completion through ICF

• $ Application fee to ICF


(Estimated Timeline for ICF Review: 4 Weeks)


Note: With our ACTP path we train and test to at least a PCC level, therefore if you have passed our exam but only have enough hours to get an ACC, later when you do have enough hours for a PCC you do not need to take the exam process again to receive your PCC (which you would have to with the other paths.)

MCC (Master Certified Coach)

Application for MCC can only be take via one path. The requirements are:


• 200 hours of coach specific training

• Our Full ACTP Program = 140 hrs + any of our Advanced Weekend Trainings

• If you have completed some of your hours elsewhere, you can add more with any of our Weekend Trainings or Packages

• 10 hrs Mentoring with MCC mentor coach (we have an MCC coach available. Contact us for details)

• 2,500 hours (2,250 paid) of coaching experience with at least 35 clients.

• ICF's Performance Evaluation

• Complete the Coach Knowledge Assessment unless previously passed when applying for ACC or PCC.

• Application fee to ICF

• Minimum skill requirements for MCC through ICF.
